Roslyn Presbyterian Church
140 E. Broadway Roslyn, NY Ladies and Gentlemen, My daughter Gail, her husband John, their daughters, Mary Meiners and I enjoyed so very much your Christmas Eve Candle Light service. There was such a lovely gathering of people there. So many young people with little babies, probably visiting parents or grandparents. As a former member of both the Roslyn Heights Methodist Church choir and later on, the Glenwood Landing Presbyterian Church choir, I sat there, wishing I could divest myself of at least 50 of my almost 97 years of age and get up there and sing with your choir. All the music that evening was incredibly beautiful. There was a cute little 2 1/2 year old boy who sat directly in front of me. When the soprano and violinist performed "Oh Holy Night," he sat quietly, listening intently, but when they finished, he jumped up and said, "Yea," expressing the feelings of all of us. [see the Events page for the video clip] It was all such a beautiful evening. So thank you all, so very very much, for getting Christmas off to such a perfect start for me. My best wishes to you for the New Year. Sincerely, Betty Hamilton Buckhout |
